Word up StreetOutterz

So last week on the 22nd of Jan. A couple of people turned up… instead of classing it off as a bad day job, what we did instead is plan our next steps.

  • James is going to create an image of what we would like our website to look like. So then we can pass on the image 2 anyone who you think might know would like to build us a website for free? to put in their portfolio.. or cuz they have nothing elsebetter to do// like to make websites?
  • We practiced some of the workshops 10-4pm on Wednesday 23rd. I think it was a great exercise. We did all of Brendan’s, which were the ” Hiedegger’s Apple” for 14-18 year olds, “The team work specific” for 12-16 year olds and the “modern art” workshop. we also did my graffiti one as we had some sparetime to kill. This was a great experience because it showed us where the gaps we  never considered – lay. and Madaleine – previous teacher gave us some good constructive feedback.
  • Paulette Johnson got back to me, she says if I send her more info about “streeout” then she’ll ask the teachers in the Barnsley school if they are interested in doing some of our workshops, instead of us helping out with just the teachers workshops. But I’m  easy either way, you know all experience is good experience…. and 8 pound an hour is good goin’! better than working in a call centre for that amount of money. :o P

  • We are trying to raise some money to get some advertising stuff printed and some printed booklets. to send out. ANY IDEAS? So far we are going to do YANK PANK (american pancakes) on the 5th Feb [pancake day] and smoothies  and then later on in the month…. A Murder Mystery lol… should be pretty fun? Also doing Sheffield [20]08 film showing so if any of you guys do film – defo put your work in. no theme… just experiemental stuff really. brendan and I have start a collaborative effort. So far we have a great existential film . SO BRING IDEAS TO THE NEXT MEETING.

  • Richie is going to make a “hitlist” of schools- addresses and numbers in the South Yorkshire area.
  • We’re going to get intouch with the 2 schools this week 2 set up an OFFICIAL DATE. we schedualed in the 14th + 15th  feb, but of course this is subject to avilability and change.
  • Going to ring Jeneral Publishing for printing Quotes – ask for discount ;o), Sheffield Arts Education and South yorkshire  Funding Bureau.- GOAL TO DO THIS WEEK.
  • MaRK Purcell recommended some one who works in Graphic design called “Sue Smart?” I could be wrong. Anyways, he said he’ll ask her to come and meet with us sometime real soon because she did something similiar to this 5 years ago, like she ran a whole organisation for the country., She can definately give us some shit hot advice I reckon.
  • After the first 2/3 schools we will start to get intouch with Carol Maund at SITE – (i got her name wrong the first time…I’m sensing a pattern here lol) but we decided not to get intouch till we have some hardcore evidence that we are rolling and it’s not just a very nice idea.
  • NEXT MEETING IS TOMORROW!!! I KNOW. I’m shit  – It’s because on Wednesday evening I went to NYC and forgot my diary so I couldn’t even send a quick email. Not to sound like a lecturer here, but you all should be in the studio’s anyways.

SO THURSDAY 31ST JAN 2008 AT 12:00 OUTSIDE C302 (we’ll find a better place after we meet up).
